Living Your Future Full of Hope

With all the graduations on the horizon, this insight resonates loudly.  Pastor made a statement during his sermon recently that I’ve been pondering in my heart ever since.  He said, “God’s plans are not cognitive!”  Cognitive means the ability to actively engage in the process of knowing, learning and understanding things.
Time and time again we see in the scriptures God’s plan for everyone, including the “underdogs”, the least likely and those who may be considered outcasts, is far greater than any individual could imagine, know, or explain.  One’s peers sure could not even begin to understand, know, or learn about God’s plans for another.  Among as few of these in the Bible would be King David, Ruth, Gideon, Ester, Gideon, Jabez, Peter, The Woman With the Issue of Blood…the list goes on and on.
All of us have experienced the ah ha moments, when God did something so monumental we were left shaking our heads in disbelief!  Even though we know and believe His ways are higher than ours, the manifestation of His greatness often leaves us in awe and wonder. Can you believe God wants to do something in your life that even you cannot imagine or dream?
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9
We will not and cannot understand nor explain the move of His mighty hand.  So give it up to Him, put your best effort forth, and remember always He holds the playbook and He does not need our assistance.
I will dare say, He has shown me proof of the following scripture time and time again!  If you ever feel cast aside, overlooked, condemned, and knocked to your knees–counted out by the world standards–take heart!  Your future in Him will always be for good.
If we read and believe what the Bible says about us, we will walk in our greatest hour, even when at times imminent destruction and hopelessness seem to abound. God’s plans are for a good future and always filled with hope for more.
This I know: the favor that brings promotion and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth, for no one exalts a person but God, the true judge of all.  He alone determines where favor rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees.  Psalms 75:6-7.
